Lt Col Michael J. Halick, Professor of Aerospace Studies

Lt Col Halick is the Detachment 25 Commander and Professor of Aerospace Studies, instructing the senior level classes.  He was born in Pottsville, PA and was commissioned as a second lieutenant from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1995.  He has served in various space operations assignments including Global Positioning System operations; Titan and Atlas launch operations, and duties at the Air Force Communications Support Facility.  He completed a year-long Education with Industry fellowship and led ground system architecture development for the Space Radar Integrated Program Office.  Immediately prior to arriving at ASU, he was assigned as the Acquisition Branch Chief, within the Communications Operations Group at the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) where he was the program manager for the 650-person enterprise Information Technology and Telecommunications program, supporting over 800 locations and 20,000 users.  His program maintained a global infrastructure delivering 7x24-hour voice, video, and other data services supporting national overhead reconnaissance systems, ground stations, and operational communications used to conduct intelligence activities essential for U.S. and her allies’ national security.
