Unit Admissions Officer

Captain Gil Moncada, Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies

Captain Moncada is Detachment 025's unit admissions officer (UAO). He is responsible for recruiting high quality cadets into the detachment. Captain Moncada is the instructor of AES 201 and AES 202 and is responsible for preparing the sophomores for the challenges they will face at field training. Captain Moncada has served the Air Force for 15 years, and is a communications officer.

Capt Moncada, an Arizona native and graduate from Bagdad High School in Arizona, earned his commission in 2002 through Officer Training School. As a communications officer, he has held various positions including Support Flight commander at Luke AFB, Maintenance Group Exec in Kunsan Korea and Information System Deputy Crew commander at Schriever AFB. Prior to assuming his current position, Capt Moncada served as the Network Operations Officer-in-Charge in Balad AB, Iraq.
