Orientation

The Fall 2022 New Student Orientation date is set for Thursday, 11 August 2022.  We will meet in the atrium of the Social Sciences Building on the ASU Tempe campus; sign-in for orientation will begin at 0730.  Please ensure all of your WINGS information is completed two weeks prior to the orientation date. Additionally, please see the attached files at the bottom of this page and read over them prior to your arrival.

If you are unable to attend the orientation on this date, please fill out the Google Form below in order to submit a request for an alternate orientation time/date/place.

Virtual orientation is also an option. Utilize the links below in order to sign up for our Fall 2022 virtual orientation. Virtual orientation will be held over Zoom.

Uniform of the Day (UOD) for Orientation:

Incoming students attending orientation should wear the UOD: Navy blue polo, khaki pants, black belt, black socks, black shoes and black face mask (per ASU guidance). No hats shall be worn. All male students should be clean shaven. Further details about grooming standards will be explained throughout the beginning of the semester to incoming cadets.

We are using a paperless orientation, which allows new students in our program to complete several forms online. You will need to complete the first two steps in the process, completing applicant registration and part one of the applicant checklist, no later than two weeks prior to the set orientation date. Please visit the website below and click on "Apply for AFROTC" to create an account and begin the checklist.

The attached documents at the bottom of the page provides very important information on orientation to include the paperwork required for enrollment--most of these documents are loaded in WINGS and need to be completed and re-uploaded in WINGS prior to orientation.  One of those documents is the AFROTC Form 28, which is required to participate in AES 294: Air Force Physical Fitness Training. You will need to provide your Sports Physical in WINGS or in person no later than the first PT class of the semester.

Physical Fitness Preparation

Be prepared for the baseline (ungraded) Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) tentatively scheduled within the first month of ASU class start date.  The baseline test provides a starting point for all cadets to improve upon during the course. PFA’s consist of 1 minute of push-ups, 1 minute of sit-ups, and a 1.5 mile run. Below are the PFA standards for males and females:
